We are pleased to announce that we now have a confirmed 2024 date and venue for the popular CLOtC National Conference!
Last year’s event saw 300 professionals, including school leaders, teachers, educational professionals, LOtC practitioners and providers, from across the country come together for a day of learning, inspiration, knowledge sharing and networking at the West Midland Safari Park.
“I had a wonderful time, felt so welcomed and learned so much. I especially loved the sessions in the main hall after lunch- getting a chance to chat to schools and also to other providers, connecting over similar issues was very heartening.”
“I want to say a massive thank you to everyone involved with organising the conference! Myself and my colleague found the whole experience inspiring and we came away with plenty of thoughts and ideas on how to improve what we do.”
Save the date
This year, the conference will take place on Thursday 14th November at Weldon Village Academy, in Corby, Northamptonshire: a brand-new secondary school and part of the Meridian Trust.
Tickets are now on sale!
Early bird tickets at a discounted rate are now available to book. We are also offering an additional discount to those who are members of CLOtC (find out more about becoming a member here).
A first for the National Conference
CLOtC are currently working with all Meridian Trust Schools (Primary, Secondary and SEND) to support them to achieve the LOtC Mark and embed learning beyond the classroom (LOtC) into their curriculum. Hosting the conference with Meridian Trust offers a great opportunity to build relationships between schools within the trust and other schools across the UK, as well as providers of LOtC. There will be a focus on how the trust as a whole has embraced LOtC and the learnings and inspiration other schools and providers can take from this. It should be a fantastic event and a first of its kind of CLOtC.
As Weldon Village Academy is a new school, currently only year 7 and year 8 attend. To allow us the space to host our conference at their school, in return we are funding all of these year 7 and year 8 students to go beyond the classroom on an educational visit on the day of the conference. Dr Anne Hunt, CEO of CLOtC says:
“Hosting this year’s conference at a secondary school is a great opportunity to re-imagine the format of this popular annual event, and means we also need to find the support to help all 300 of the school’s students to take their learning off site that day, which is a fantastic opportunity for us to put into action what CLOtC stands for and advocates.”
