LOtC Quality Badge (site only)

Council for Learning Outside the Classroom assess providers who offer a site for day visits or residentials and do not run any activities themselves or via a third party, or hire out technical equipment for example, a country park, woodland, museum, visitor attraction, hostel or hotel. They must give guidance to groups about how to use their facilities or the local area for educational purposes.

This was previously known as the Site Provider Award.

How are you assessed?

  • Download the LOtC Quality Badge Application Guidance Notes V7 to see the quality indicators you will be measured against and the evidence required.
  • When you are ready to apply for the LOtC Quality Badge (site only), complete the registration form below. We will double check you are suitable for a site only application and then give you access to our online portal to download the editable self-evaluation form.
  • On the portal follow the step by step instructions to submit your form and upload the required evidence.
  • You will be invoiced on submission and asked to complete a LOtC Quality Badge holders’ agreement. When the invoice is paid your application will be assessed.

For day venues, your application undergoes a desktop audit.

For residential settings, such as a hostel or hotel, you will receive an online meeting to review your submitted paperwork and then a site visit from an assessor.
