LOtC Quality Badge Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must provide or facilitate LOtC experiences to children and young people. Providers of equipment hire that requires specialist risk management are not eligible. Organisations that solely provide training for Providers of LOtC are also not eligible.
  • The provision must be accessible to schools and / or community groups searching the online LOtC Quality Badge database.
  • The experience offered must complement and support delivery of planned learning outcomes.
  • The experience offered must comply with all relevant UK / devolved nations’ or other relevant national / international legislation. 
  • Schools and other educational settings will be eligible to apply for the LOtC Quality Badge if they provide formal LOtC provision on an ongoing regular and planned basis that other schools and / or groups can access, in line with the other eligibility criteria.

LOtC Quality Badge Site Only Award

 

The LOtC Quality Badge Site Only Award is administered and assessed by CLOtC only. Any requests received by Awarding Bodies of this nature must be forwarded to CLOtC. The award is intended to assess organisations that support and facilitate schools’ self-led visits to their site.

In order to achieve the LOtC Quality Badge (Site Only) award, Providers must demonstrate to the satisfaction of CLOtC that they meet all the quality indicators relevant to the provision and that they meet the following eligibility criteria in addition to those noted above:

  • Providers must not offer any teaching or guided tours as part of their offer to schools
  • The Provider must offer clear and up to date guidance and/or materials to support schools conducting self-led visits at their site.
