The government have recently passed a new Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act, known as Martyn’s Law.
Although this predominantly applies to larger organisations, it is considered good practice for all organisations to consider how they would deal with a terrorist attack or similar on their premises. How would you lockdown, evacuate, invacuate or Run, Hide, Tell in your organisation – indoors and out?
Having such emergency procedures in place is already included in the LOtC Quality Badge quality indicators.
Visit the government ProtectUK website to watch a short video for an overview of the scope and requirements of the new Act.
We will be publishing a Good Practice Guide for our LOtC Quality Badge Holder’s with further guidance and information on what Martyn’s Law means for your organisation. This will be sent via our e-newsletter in September.
