The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC) are excited to invite workshop proposals for the CLOtC National Conference 2026, taking place on Thursday 12th November 2026, at the RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey.
We are inviting proposals for engaging, practical and informative workshops that align with this year’s conference theme: Engage, Connect, Enrich. Sessions should inspire delegates with ideas, approaches or case studies that demonstrate the impact of high-quality learning beyond the classroom. In particular, we welcome workshops that show how learning can engage young people in meaningful experiences, connect classroom learning to real-world contexts, making it real, relevant and relatable, and build social connections between learners, communities and the environment. Workshops should highlight how these experiences can ultimately enrich education and create inclusive, memorable opportunities for all young people.
Workshop Details:
- Sessions will run for approximately 50-60 minutes
- Workshop streams: workshops for schools/educational settings, workshops for providers and workshops suitable for both.
- Maximum 30 delegates per session
- Workshops must include interactive elements, such as practical activities or discussions and can take place indoors or outdoors
- All presentations/resources will be shared with delegates after the event
- Workshops should not be promotional but must provide valuable insights and ideas
- Accepted workshop presenters will receive one free place at the conference and promotion on marketing and communication materials

We particularly encourage proposals that explore:
- Connecting learners with the environment, community, society or curriculum
- Strategies for inclusive and accessible learning beyond the classroom or case studies on examples of how LOtC offers inclusive learning experiences for all
- Innovative approaches to engaging all learners
- Practical techniques for enriching learning outside the classroom
Submission & Key Dates:
- Proposal deadline: Friday 8th May 2026
- Notification of acceptance: End of May 2026

Please note: If you are a provider or a school, we will only accepted workshops proposals if you hold or are working through the application for the LOtC Quality Badge and the LOtC Mark respectively.
To apply, complete the Workshop Proposal Form and return it to Emily Carlill, Project and Event Officer, at emily.carlill@lotc.org.uk.
