CLOtC Event: Supporting SEND students – ensure your setting and activities are accessible and engaging

Thursday 16th January @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

11% of children and young people in the UK are disabled, and 18.4% of all UK children have special educational needs. This is therefore a large group of students who are a potential audience and can enjoy your site and activities but may need some adjustments in how you offer it.

In this one-hour ‘top-tips’ session with multi-award-winning campaigner, Museum professional and SEND Mum Sam Bowen (SEND in Museums), you’ll learn why engaging with SEND audiences is so important, not just for them but for your organisation too. You’ll be shown examples of what works best and ideas of how you can start to develop bespoke options at your own site both indoors and outside.

By the end of the session, you will understand the importance and impact you can make on cultural inclusion and know some ways in which you can develop your settings, activities and offer to make a positive difference to the schools and students visiting.

This event is sponsored by LOtC Quality Badge holder: Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.
