SUMMARY:CLOtC National Conference 2024
DESCRIPTION:Taking place on Thursday 14th November at Weldon Village Academy\, in Corby\, Northamptonshire. \nThis conference is dedicated to all types of learning beyond the classroom and brings together educators from schools and settings with providers of LOtC from across the country. This year’s theme will focus on ‘Supporting Students to Thrive‘. \n \n \n  \n\nWhat to Expect\nThe CLOtC National Conference sees up to 300 delegates\, including school leaders\, teachers\, educational professionals\, LOtC practitioners and providers from across the UK\, come together for a day of learning\, sharing good practice\, and networking. The programme will include inspiring keynote speakers who will engage and motivate the audience from the start and set the tone for the day ahead; practical and informative workshops led by experts and covering the breadth of learning outside the classroom giving attendees ideas they can implement as soon as they get back to their schools or setting; discussions; and plenty of networking opportunities. \nRead more about the CLOtC National Conference 2023 here and some quotes from last year’s event include: \n“I’m just writing to say how brilliant the conference was. It was the best one I’ve been to. Everything seemed to flow very well\, it was very well planned and presented. I’m sure the choice of workshops will have inspired lots of schools to consider their LOtC journey. The venue was amazing too!”. \n“I just wanted to say how great today’s CLOtC conference was in Kidderminster. As a guest I felt it ran so smoothly with such thought and consideration going into its curation – it was great to be part of it.” \n“Really enjoyed my time at the event and thought it was super useful. It’s very rare I get the opportunity in my position to sit down with teachers who are on the opposite side of the fence as it were and chat things through. Great to see how strong the appetite is amongs them for the widespread adoption of LOtC.” \n“We’re delighted to support such a great initiative. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and took so much away from the conference. Well done for organising it all! You all did a fab job.” \n“Can I say how much I enjoyed the conference last week\, it was great to be able to meet up with so many like minded people\, and hear about their experiences.” \n“Thank you and the rest of the team for a fantastic conference. I really enjoyed presenting\, learning new things and meeting so many contacts. We have come back inspired with new ideas and lots more plans. I have spent this evening handing out lesson plans from your packs I picked up and am running a staff meeting tomorrow about Learning Beyond the Classroom. We cannot thank you all enough for this amazing journey.” \n  \n\n\nBuy your ticket!\nTickets are now on sale. Discounted advanced tickets will end 31st July 2024. Scroll to the bottom of this page to see the range ticket options. (CLOtC Members will need to log into the website to book a members ticket). \nCLOtC Members receive an additional discount to this event – find out more about becoming a member. \n  \n\n \nConfirmed Speakers…\nAt the conference\, we will be hosting two panel discussions: one will focus on the impacts and benefits of learning outside the classroom on health and wellbeing\, the other on skills development and career inspiration. \nInvited to speak at these panel discussions are a range of inspirational and knowledgeable individuals with different backgrounds and expertise from across the LOtC sector. We are pleased to confirm the following speakers: \n  \nJacqui O’Hanlon\, Director of Creative Learning and Engagement\, Royal Shakespeare Company\nJacqui O’Hanlon is Director of Creative Learning and Engagement at LOtC Quality Badge holder: the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC)\, leading its work with schools\, communities\, adult learners and partner theatres. \nDr Sue Roffey\, Honorary Associate Professor at University College\, London and Director of Growing Great Schools Worldwide\nDr Sue Roffey is a teacher\, psychologist\, academic\, speaker and author.
