The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom is delivering a learning outside the classroom Teacher Taster session in the South West region and we’d love you to join us on the day.
Learning outside the classroom (LOtC) is proven to raise attainment, improve behaviour and engage children of all abilities in their learning. Whether it is on the school grounds, in a museum or gallery, at a city farm or field studies centre, LOtC helps young people make the connection between what they learn in the classroom to the world outside it, and provides rich, memorable, learning experiences. Join us to find out how.
Whether you are a teacher, ITT student or NQT, discover first hand how LOtC can broaden horizons, for example through Forest Schools, gardening projects, historical reenactments or science experiments in the school grounds. If you are new to LOtC, or just want to find out what is available in your area, these Teacher Tasters sessions are designed to whet your appetite with talks, practical demonstrations and group activities from local LOtC Quality Badge providers.
On the day you can expect to*:
- Meet a member of the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom
- Benefit from a talk and case study provided by an Outdoor Education Advisor
- Meet with LOtC Quality Badge holders in the region and take part in LOtC taster activities
- Receive a USB stick with useful LOtC resources
This event has lots to offer but don’t take our word for it, read what delegates from our previous event had to say: “I could have stayed all day”, “practical, inspiring advice” and of the speakers “Interesting, genuine, passionate and engaging”.
