The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC) believes that every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom and this week sees the launch of a new series of learning outside the classroom (LOtC) resources which offer hands-on, practical ideas to help make that happen.
Written by experienced teachers and education practitioners, the packs cover all the phases from Early Years through to Key Stage 5 and have been designed to spark your imagination by providing ideas that will build your confidence and encourage you to develop more of your own lessons outside the classroom.
Whether you are new to LOtC or have years of experience in delivering lessons outside the classroom, the packs offer a range of activities from quick, ten minute lessons in the school grounds to longer, more complex activities to be delivered on educational visits.
All twelve packs focus either on English or Science & Maths and include prompts that will help you plan what to do before, during and after the activity. You can also expect case studies, suggestions for extending the lessons and tips on making links with other subjects. Use these lessons as a starting point, then let your imagination run wild – tweak and tune the ideas to meet the needs of your own class and subject material.
You can view more information and order your pack on the LOtC resource packs page.
