Cumbria Development Education Centre and Ambleside Primary School have been working together during autumn term 2011 to bring to life a whole-school topic, World from our Doorstep, and to build an enquiry-based approach at the heart of teaching across the school. CDEC staff have supported the school with a weekly Philosophy for Children session in each class (Reception to Year 6), extended with a further weekly learning outside the classroom session for each class, based on the Forest School ethos, and linking the outdoor learning with enquiry themes.
