The Make the Link Climate exChange project has been developed to promote learning, dialogue and action on climate change by linking UK secondary schools with secondary schools in key at risk countries in Africa (Malawi, Kenya and Senegal) and two other countries in the EU (The Netherlands and Bulgaria). Participating students can connect globally via a secure, interactive and multi-lingual web platform to learn about, and share experiences and views on climate change, www.mtl-cec.org
All project learning resources are provided for free, along with training and technical support for engaging on the web platform, and ideas about how the students can take action on climate change locally, nationally and globally. We have also just opened up the application process for both small and large grants for schools to run their own awareness raising activities. The application process is very simple and we award grants on a monthly basis. This can be a great way to do community outdoor projects!
We can run individual trainings for each school but may look to coordinate if we have significant uptake in your area. Training lasts for about 2 hours and we have access to funding to support schools with supply teaching costs if you would like to run training during the school day.
